People who don't eat meat, fish, eggs and dairy products have an appetite for super-blind spot protein that affects their total intake.

Why is it that only human beings have ever eaten in nature and encountered problems such as obesity and diabetes? I intuitively realized that the key to solving this question lies in the "appetite mechanism". How human appetite works, what to eat and when to stop eating is determined, and I decided to do experiments with humans to find out.

Respondents can eat as much as they like from buffets such as meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, bread, fruits and vegetables in the first two days. The weight and composition of the food are carefully recorded every time.

Then, on the third and fourth days, the subjects were divided into two groups and narrowed down their dietary options.

One group provides high-protein food buffet (mainly meat, fish, eggs, low-fat dairy products), the other group provides a variety of low-protein, high-carbohydrate, high-fat foods (spaghetti, bread, cereal, dessert, etc.). At this point, all subjects were able to eat the given food as much as they wanted, and recorded the amount and composition of the food in detail.

Only one group of people obviously ate too much.

In the first phase of the subjects' free choice of diet, their calorie intake was close to the average expected intake, with a protein calorie ratio of 18%. In previous studies, as the standard value of protein ratio for people around the world, there has been a ratio of 15-20%, so 18% is not the characteristic number.

However, in the second stage, when the subjects were divided into high-protein food group and high-carbohydrate and high-fat food group, all subjects maintained the same protein intake ratio as the free choice stage. In other words, in order to meet the protein intake target, the group on a high-carb, high-fat diet had to consume 35% more calories than the free-choice phase, and subjects on a high-protein diet reduced their total calorie intake by 38%.

The results show that the appetite for protein determines the total food intake.
