Signs of Apple's decline
One of Apple's special treatments is YouTube star Marques Brownlee, who boasts over 10 million registrants.
Brownlee, a product reviewer of the latest crisp technology, is now a new influencer shaping the image of technology companies in the general public.
Brownlee is a regular guest at Apple's product launch event, and instead of being allowed to meet with top executives, he gives Apple a big reward with positive reviews. It was such a relationship. But in February 2018, Brownlee's review of the new smart speaker Apple's HomePod is surprising.
The HomePod was the long-awaited answer from Apple to Google Home and Amazon Echo. Brownlee praised the goodness of the construction, the buttons (for adjusting the volume), the power cord, the texture, and the high-precision sound, but after that, he took it down for 9 minutes and 40 seconds.
The shortcomings continued, such as "I can't distinguish the voices of multiple people," "I can't sync with other HomePods," and "I can't change my default music player to Spotify."
"I can't buy items online. I can't order takeaways. I can't call Uber or taxi. I can't read calendar appointments or register appointments in the calendar. I can't set multiple timers at the same time. I can't make phone calls by voice. I can't find recipes. I can't use "Find iPhone" .... It's still going on. Compared to other smart speakers, there are so many things I can't do with the home pod. In conclusion, home pods are a bad product. "
This disappointing device was a product of Apple's corporate culture, where old ways of working to convey ideas top-down still remain.
