The Kanagawa Prefectural Board of Education has compiled the results of the first questionnaire survey in 2021 regarding sexual harassment damage at prefectural schools. A total of 130 students said that they themselves or other students had been victimized, four times more than the previous year (32 students) in the four-month survey. The survey target was about 120,500 students from prefectural high schools, the second half of secondary education schools, and the high school department of special needs schools. Since there is no end to the number of disciplinary actions taken by teachers for obscene behavior, the survey will be conducted twice a year from this time, and the damage situation from April to July last year has been compiled. The breakdown of the 130 people is 70 girls, 40 boys, and 20 of unknown gender. When asked about the extent of the damage (multiple answers possible), 66 said they themselves were affected, and 64 said that other students were affected. In the 66 cases of those who complained about their own damage, the perpetrators of sexual harassment were 29 teachers, 23 students, and 14 "others" such as students from other schools. In terms of the nature of the damage (same), 28 cases were "unnecessarily touched." Among the cases among students, there were cases of "sending sexual messages and images on mobile phones, etc." and "soliciting sexual relations."
